In fact, not only are sporting events held in that very venue, but the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame is located just north of the Sprint Center.

If staying at a hotel near Sprint Center to watch live basketball, in the past the Sprint Center has hosted the men’s and women’s Big 12 Tournaments in basketball. In addition to the Big 12 Tournaments and the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame, the Sprint Center area also includes the College Basketball Experience. The Sprint Center hosted first and second round action of the men's 2009 NCAA Tournament and it will host the women’s version of the Big Dance next year.

This Major League Soccer team has been a staple of Kansas City since 1995. Spectators seeking a more climate-controlled environment should head over to Hale Arena, home of the Kansas City Roller Warriors, a women’s Flat Track Derby Association member. Finally, representing Northern League Baseball, the Kansas City T-Bones have been based in the area since 2006.

Besides these regular seasonal sporting events, tournaments, exhibitions, and other annual sporting events call Kansas City home. Held at the Santa Fe Trail or Mill Creek parks, the annual Kansas City Wiffle championships were established in 2006.
