| Mp3 Streaming is the New Easy Listening |
|
Who needs the radio anymore? Listening to
the radio is a cultural trend that is going out of style. The cause for its
demise is easy and accessible MP3 streaming. These days, instead of dealing
with annoying DJs, stations with no variety, and those pesky things called
advertisements, you can enjoy continuous high-quality music playing on your
computer or mobile phone twenty four hours a day. The streaming of music over
the Internet can be done through a pay service or for free, and is easily
accessible to anyone who can connect online. With such options out there, it's
no wonder that listening to the radio is going the way of the dinosaurs.
The great part about online services that
provide mp3
streaming is that they take the experience of listening to music to
the next level. With these services, you get access to millions of songs at any
time. At the click of a button, you can put them on your mobile phone and take
them on the go for your commute to work or your trips to the gym. You can
instantly share music with your friends on social networking sites, and even
download songs straight onto your hard drive to listen to whenever you want. What
radio station offers that type of instant flexibility?
There are two main types of Mp3 streaming
sites: free and subscription. Free sites that stream Mp3s are a no-frills way
to satisfy your music craving instantly. While you can specific the genre of
music you want to listen, you typically have very little control over the exact
songs that play. Some of these sites allow you to enter in the name of a
specific song or artist so they can play songs similar to what you are looking
for but the exact song you enter is rarely played. With these sites, you also
have little control over how much music you can listen to. Often, you will get
to listen to a certain number of songs per day or per month, and your ability
to scan back and forth through the music is very limited. Alternatively, you
may have unlimited listening but it will be ad-supported. These restrictions
are due to copyright issues and the fact that the licenses these free sites are
able to maintain are limited in order to make them affordable.
Subscription sites that provide streaming
Mp3 access are a different story entirely. For a low rate per month, typically
under ten dollars, they give you unlimited access to all of the music they have
the licenses to play. You are able to scan through music easily, select and
listen to specific songs and artists, and play songs as many times as you like.
When you find a song you really like, you can download it quickly to your
computer and have it on hand anytime, whether you are connected to the Internet
or not.
The big question you need to ask yourself
is “how much do I already spend each month on Mp3 downloads?” With the cost of
Mp3s jumping from ninety-nine cents to a dollar and twenty nine cents, chances
are you are already spending twenty or more dollars a month to satisfy your
love for more music. Why not cut that amount at least in half and sign up for a
subscription Mp3 streaming site? Then you will not only be able to listen to as
much music as you want, but also download as much music as you want. When you
really compare these two options, is there any question which option is the
best?
