New Mover Lists and Their Benefit to You
Moving. It is one of the most exciting yet tedious times of anyone's life. It is a time of new potentials and a time for confusion. It is a time to get rid of the old and a time to bring in the new. It should not be all that surprising that people at this time of their lives need to purchase various items. This is a time where new mover lists can benefit your business.

Whether one is moving into an apartment or a mansion; using U-Haul or a moving company, they are going to need certain items or services in their new abode. It is almost unavoidable. Something is bound to break. Something else will be lost or accidentally thrown out as trash. These items will need to be replaced. Perhaps the lock on the front door needs to be re-keyed. Maybe a washer and dryer hook-up need to be installed. Opportunities to buy mailing lists like these do not often come for businesses. It is almost as if you have a captive audience because it is unlikely the customer is going to hem and haw too long while their laundry piles up. There is a finite time line as it is unlikely these services will be needed by that particular consumer anytime soon. It makes sense to let them know who you are as soon as possible.

As much as the average person might like to think they will be able to repair or replace items in their new home, there is a greater likelihood they would prefer to have the work done by a professional after a move. After all, there is unpacking to be done and the kids' bedrooms need to be painted! Effectively using a list of new movers can maximize your chances of being recognized by these new customers. As soon as someone moves into a new house, they start receiving targeted advertising in addition to their regular and forwarded mail. There is a reason for this. These people are more likely to utilize those advertised services. To miss out on this opportunity could potentially harm a business' bottom line. Get in the action!

Suppose you have an on-call plumbing service. Does it not make sense to get your name out there in case something goes wrong with the kitchen sink or, horror of horrors, the toilet. Do you deal with septic systems? If you are not utilizing new mover lists, you are probably losing business to your competitors. “But wait,” you say, “I only work in a certain area.” Well, market to that area only. Hone your advertising list to only the new residents of a specific area.

By getting in early, you can increase your chances of leaving a favorable impression with your potential future customer. By doing so, you might open up market opportunities you would not have realized otherwise. Remember those do-it-yourselfers? Do you think they would be more likely to use your service a second time if you came in and saved the day after they moved in? People remember these sorts of things. Where they may have done a certain repair or improvement (and possibly messed it up) in the past, they are going to be more likely to pull out your business card and give you a call.

Do not overlook businesses either. They move as well, and the same rules apply with new mover lists. If you utilize a list and contact new businesses after they have moved, you will be more likely to stick in their memory than if you place an ad in the local paper.

By using new mover lists, you can increase your sales. Not only can you provide a service, you may develop a longer relationship with your client that will benefit both of you. If you are not already doing so, look into getting a list of the new movers in your area. You will not regret it.
